Environment and regulations
Reconciling aerial helicopter filming with a clear conscience, respecting the environment while complying with our values and current regulations. That is the challenge facing all filmmakers, and it is also ours.
We are all aware of the delicate balance to be found, but we all know that images are undoubtedly one of the most powerful vectors to make known the richness of our world.

General Interest
Papa Sierra selects helicopter companies participating in a carbon offset program. One of them actively participates in the tree planting program: Reforestaction.com (18 million trees already planted).
The helicopters used for Papa Sierra’s aerial shots are the same ones that carry out missions of general interest, such as the control of electrical or railway networks, firefighting and, of course, medical evacuations.
Flying with helicopter pilots for aerial filming helps maintain pilot proficiency and reduces the impact on the environment by indirectly reducing the number of training hours crews must complete.

One of the great advantages of this type of shooting
Of course, flying one or several helicopters or airplanes is not neutral, but one has to take into account the relationship between flight time and the number of rushes shot in a relatively short space of time. Seen from this angle, the carbon footprint of each minute flown quickly becomes quite low.
It should also be noted that, for the time being, there are often no other alternatives for certain shots.
